The Lake Winnipeg Basin Stewardship Fund (the Fund) is a $3.65 million initiative that provides financial support for high-impact, solution-oriented projects that reduce nutrient loads and/or improve the ecological sustainability of Lake Winnipeg and its basin.
Environment Canada is now accepting applications for the Fall 2010 funding round (Round 5).
Follow up:
Stage 1: Letters of Intent are submitted and reviewed by Environment Canada against eligibility requirements. Once a Letter of Intent is deemed eligible, applicants will be invited to submit a detailed proposal.
Stage 2: Invited proposals will undergo a technical review and then be evaluated by a Public Advisory Committee that makes funding recommendations to the Minister of the Environment.
The deadline for Letters of Intent for the Fall 2010 round is October 1, 2010. Applicants are asked to submit Letters of Intent (maximum 2 pages), as follows:

Please note, all projects submitted for Round 5 must be completed by no later than March 31, 2012. Project phases may be submitted and will be considered as long as the phase(s) is completed by no later than March 31, 2012.
